Cache # 26
Everton to Beechworth.
This cache is one of a few I have placed along Diffey Road. It is easily accessible by car or mountain bike.
You can carefully park near WP 1. Stealth may be required here as cyclists can come upon you quickly from Beechworth way but may come by huffing and puffing slowly from Everton way.
I have made this a multi to get you away from the busy Rail Trail for privacy at GZ.
Diffey Road is approximately 17km long and winds its way from Beechworth to Everton. It starts as bitumen but at its junction with Stilley Road it becomes a dirt road.
It is a very scenic route with quite diverse scenery: vineyards, chestnuts, open farmland, rolling hills, pines and natural bush. You might also see piebald horses, black sheep and alpacas and a dalmatian or two. Mountain or hybrid bike riders would enjoy riding this road and if not wishing to do the whole ride on the road could switch to the Rail Trail as the two cross at several points along the way.
As always, please keep a lookout for snakes over the hot summer months.
WP 1 is a micro which gives the coordinates for GZ. It is probably safest to walk or ride to GZ or park carefully on the side of the road. GZ is a good-sized container with Log Book and PEN, swaps, a couple of old Kenyan coins, Red Bicycle TB and a Pathtag.
