Simply Paul: Archived and gathered up. Over 100 finds (and no DNFs; well done!) on this cache, but the series is past its sell-by date, always needed a lot of attention due to cheap cache containers - take note, series setters! - and had some other issues (reopening of train line and HS2 fears amongst them) so it's time to drop most of them. TCLN. Very overgrown along the railway line, but very atmospheric. It wasn't this rough when I set the cache in November 2011.... Cheers again for all your logs. Thanks too to the group which came with me here to collect this one up. They didn't all sign the log, no, but I know they were here as the cache was found [:)]

Geocache Description:

The Life Begins cache series is an autobiographical trail set to celebrate - if that's the right word - my turning 40 in November 2011. Don't forget to answer the question in red on the log and make a note of the number! You should get four chances to get each figure in order to find LB40-Bonus!.

This cache: Just off the track. No need to cross the fence your GPS may take you towards.

Biography: 1975 was when I got big enough for my brother to find use for me, such as go-cart ballast (and occassional test driver). The other shot is me at his 6th birthday party, an event I recall well. Big table in the back garden on a very sunny July afternoon, lots of local kids and orange squash for all! Ah, memories.

Wider world: 1975 was the year of Fawlty Towers, The Sweeney and Jim'll Fix It - I never wrote in. Old Spice and Brut ads were everywhere, along with permed hair on footballers. Eight-Track was cutting edge (ask your parents) and so were the Bay City Rollers - which tells you a lot about the mid-70s. Bob Marley lead a Reggae Revolution in the UK and Jaws and The Rocky Horror Picture Show brought both extra bite and cross-dressing to the cinemas. Number 1 on my birthday: D.I.V.O.R.C.E by Billy Connolly, just missing the rather cooler Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen. Bah!

Where next: Back to the track and follow your GPS!
