Geocache Description:

A mystery cache that involves finding 2 tree groups in the meadow and counting the number in the group. The cache is now in a place reachable by all. I have also decided to make the clues more regular as no one has found the cache for quite a while. (I tested the old system several times but it was a little 'unorthodox' and was hogging a nice little walk!)

The cache is not at the listed coordinates but this is a good place to start. You will be standing near an Ash tree in the middle of Crabtree Meadow. Welch's Meadow is to the North, a flood plain and nature reserve, and was named after a local butcher in the early 19th century. Welch's Meadow often floods in the winter and the ducks, geese and swans make good use of it until the river Leam subsides. There is no need to go anywhere near the river for this cache (but it is a nice walk!) and the cache isn't in the nature reserve, which extends from the river to the mown edge of Crabtree Meadow. There is also no need to go through undergrowth and the camouflaged cache can be seen (if you look carefully) at head hight from open ground.

The cache is a small clip box at these coordinates
N52 17.2(B+A)(A+1)
W001 31.2(B+2)2

Where the missing numbers are the number of trees of the same species in a group within Crabtree Meadow and with touching canopies.
A = Norway Maple
B = Hornbeam

The cache contains a log book and a pencil with a little room for objects. Happy hunting!

You can park on Leam Terrace at N52 17.245, W001 31.276 or on Willes Road at N52 17.292, W001 31.562.
