This cache was placed Oct. 31, on the birthday of the founder of Girl Scouting, Juliette Gordon Low. The cache is in honor of the 100th anniversary of Girl Scouting, which is in March 2012.
For years our Girl Scout Council in Northwestern Pennsylvania was known as Penn Lakes Girl Scout Council. In a major reorganization plan Girl Scouts USA merged 5 councils in Western Pennsylvania. On April 1, 2008 these councils became known as Girl Scouts Western Pennsylvania with their new headquarters in Pittsburgh. Our former Council office in Edinboro is now a regional/satellite office. The cache is named after our legacy council.
Cache is placed with permission. It is a well-filled ammo box hidden in a small wooded area. It is on a very busy road, please do NOT park on the highway, there is parking at the G.S. office.
There is a Geoscouting trackable coin for the FTF.
