Geocache Description:

"Calamity Line Railroad" (nickname) ran through this City Park in Olathe, KS from 1872 till approx 1934.

This rail line built shortly after the Civil War with routes from Olathe to Lawrence and points west. The railroad was nicknamed the "Calamity Line" because it operated on a financial shoestring.

It hauled mail, frieght, grain and passengers west to Santa Fe New Mexico as well as other points west.

At the coordinates there is a plaque that tells great detail about the history of this line.

This line also ran through what is now called Ernie Miller Nature Park so, on your way over there, stop here so you can see some old 1890 maps of the area to explore when you are at Ernie Miller Nature Park.

Just a little piece of Olathe history. I may turn this into a multi staged cache in the future but since the park is so small and there were several trees down due to the ice storm, I did not dare to hide a real cache here at this time.

In the meantime, Your task is to determine what Mr. Stevenson used to give Dr. Stevenson his lunch.

(I think there may be a typo on the plaque. I thought it was Mrs. Stevenson but it does say Mr. Stevenson on the plaque.)

Anyway the password is a four character word in lower case.

Use this word (to open the Certificate of Accomplishment, which also has some history about this site attatched.

Enjoy
