Geocache Description:

This should be the easiest cache find in Ixtapa so far. I ran out of time on vacation to hide it, so I had to scramble on my last morning. I wanted to hide it in Zihuatanejo but didn't have time. Oh well, I'll hide one there next time I visit.

The cache is hidden near the hotel I stayed in for a week in Ixtapa, Mexico. Vacation was outstanding, Ixtapa and Zihuatanejo are great towns to visit and relax in. I recommend the trip to everyone, I will surely return.

To find the cache, take a small trail into the trees near a billboard you can barely see from the road. The billboard is 30 feet from the road, but pretty much overgrown. You'll head into an open area with piles of rocks I assume were from when the golf course was built.

The view from the cache isn't great, but you can see all the tall hotels, the golf course, the Hospital Naval, and the tower at the Marina. Not only that, but the small market near the cache sells Bud Light!

Initially hidden in the cache are all items related to the state of Minnesota, my home state. They are:

  • talking Minnesota Vikings football
  • 2 pens from Minnesota places
  • Izaty's Resort golf tools
  • beads from the Red Lobster near Penn and 494 in Bloomington
  • letter opener from a MN mortgage broker
  • some Lake Superior agates
  • a 3M keychain
  • wooden token for a free beer at Summit Brewery in St. Paul
  • $1 chip from Mystic Lake Casino
  • Lulea Tekniska Universitet keychain from Lulea, Sweden, the sister university to University of Minnesota-Duluth's Industrial Engineering program, which I graduated from
  • 10 blue stones that have nothing to do with Minnesota
