A quick cache and dash in Ballymacscanlon on the outskirts of Dundalk
Ok so it's not really the White House but it does bear a striking resemblance to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue
It is actually Mount Oliver Convent. It is currently used as a retirement facility for the Franciscan Missionary Sister's for Africa
Once fine modest demesne; retains original layout. In use as convent since 1935 but with many additional buildings. The house is in its intact setting with views onto carriage drive to parkland (now denuded of trees) to vistas of Dundalk Bay. Small landscape park; walled garden not maintained. Avenue and small number of mature trees
Formerly called Mount Pleasant, Mount Oliver is also referred to locally as "The White House"
The cache is a micro container attached to it's cover, it contains log only so please byop. The cache is accessible roadside, there is no need to enter either the convent or the field to access the cache
