This Multi-Cache describes the formation of "Kidričevo".

Kidricevo je bilo ustanovljeno med prvo svetovno vojno kot begunsko taborišce za primorske begunce. V taborišcu je bila tudi vojaška bolnišnica. Na ozemlju, kjer so stale barake, so unicili vseh 29 zgradb, ki so spominjale na nekdanje taborišce. Ostala je le še ena zgradba, ki je tedaj služila kot poveljniško poslopje. Zemljišce se je razprostiralo cez 10 ha, v taborišcu je bilo zaprtih veliko ljudi (okoli 10000), mnogo jih je umrlo.
Staro vojaško pokopališce avstro-ogrskih vojakov, ki so umrli v bolnici v Strnišcu je iz leta 1916, ko so postavili kapelico. Obnovljena je bila leta 1991. Nagrobnih kamnov vec ni, danes je prostor urejen kot park v bližini cerkve.
Med drugo svetovno vojno je obmocje zasedel nemški okupator za potrebe Hitlerjeve mladine ti. ´ Hitlerjugend´. Najbolj pa je taborišce znano po tem, da so ga po koncu vojne zasedli partizani, kamor so namestili politicne nasprotnike, štajerske in kocevske Nemce ter tudi nekaj vojnih ujetnikov, nad katerimi so izvajali krute zlocine.
V tem casu se je spremenilo ime naselja iz Strnišce v Kidricevo, in sicer po narodnem heroju Borisu Kidricu. Njegov doprsni kip je bil iz naselja nedavno ukraden, zato so postavili drugega pred upravo stavbe Talum.
Leta 1942 je pod Hiltlerjevim poveljstvom nemški turist Vereinigte Aluminium Werkw zacel v Strnišcu graditi tovarno glinice, saj je bilo obmocje iz casa prve svetovne vojne že komunalno opremljeno, v bližini pa je že tekla železniška proga. Tovarno so gradili vojni ujetniki, svobodni delavci in razni kaznjenci. Leta 1954 so zaceli proizvajati še aluminij. Tovarna je bila dolgo poznana kot TGA- Tovarna glinice in aluminija, danes Tovarna ALUMinija TALUM. Zaposluje številne ljudi iz bližnje okolice in je poznana dalec po svetu.

Kidricevo was founded during the First World War as a refugee camp for refugees from Primorska region. The camp was a military hospital. On the territory of the former barracks, they destroyed all 29 buildings that were reminiscent of the former camp. One building remains, which then served as a command building. The property was over 10 ha large and the camp enclosed a lot of people (about 10,000), many have died.
The old military cemetery was established in the 1916 when the chapel was erected. Here many Austro-Mongore soldiers are buried which have died in the hospital in »Strnišce«. The chapel was restored in 1991 and tombstones no longer exist. The area is now arranged as a park near the church.
During the Second World War the German occupying forces occupied the area for the so-called Hitler Youth »Hitlerjugend«. But the camp is known mostly for post-war crimes that partisans commited over Germans from »Štajerska« and »Kocevje« region.
In the meantime, the village changed its name from »Strnišce« to »Kidricevo«, after the national hero Boris Kidric. His statue was recently stolen, so they placed another one in the front of Talum factory.
In 1942, under the command of Hiltler, tourist Vereinigte Aluminium Werkw started to build a factory of alumina in »Strnišce«, since the area was already equiped with utilities from the First World War and the nearby railway line ran too. The factory was built by prisoners of war, various freelance workers and convicts. In 1954 they have started to produce aluminum. The factory has long been known as TGA-factory of alumina and aluminum, today known as aluminum factory TALUM. It employs many people from the surrounding area and is known wide across the world.
