How Geocaching Works

Geocache Description:

The first annual Camping in the Rough.
This will be an overnight trip to camp on LuLu Key.
You will need a water vessel to reach the key.
It is approximately 15 miles round trip by
canoe or kayak from the nearest put in.
There will be no caches placed for this event.
This event is all about camping and hanging out
with Geocaching friends at a beautiful place. Plus, there
are plenty of kayaking/canoeing caches to find on nearby keys.

We will meet at Everglades City Ranger station at 8:00a.m.
This event is for one night at Lulu Key (outside the National Park).
The next day others will be camping in the National Park.
You will need to get a permit if you choose to camp the next day.

As with all paddles, know your limits
and consider everyone else's safety
and enjoyment along with your own.
Proper gear and experience are required..

What to bring:
Please bring a compass/GPS .
Nautical charts are best for this area.
Chart # 11430 is one to start with.
Take plenty of water. A gallon a day per person is recommended.
camping gear, food, and anything else needed for an overnight stay.
