The Burning Question Multi-Cache

This cache has been archived.

Claxons: This used to be a lovely walk but now it is very overgrown. We removed the 3 feeder boxes, all of which were fine - we failed to find the fourth stage but it may still be there. Thanks to all who have enjoyed this multi in the past.

Geocache Description:

This series will take you up the East side of lovely Menstrie Glen. Roadside parking is available at the foot of the wide zig-zag track which you take at first, then you follow a narrow path which can be muddy in places.

*Please read this very carefully as we shall write it only once.*

This is for those who like burns. The Burn in question is the Menstrie Burn along with its tributaries, the three Inchna Burns. You will find small lok'n'lok containers at the 1st, 2nd & 3rd Inchna Burns to give you the co-ordinates for the fourth stage, a micro, which is beside the parent burn. This in turn will lead you to the fifth & final cache, with a log to sign.
*** Please note the preliminary caches are stages of the multi & so there aren't any logs in them, only 'If you find this by accident ...' & 2 swappables each.***

There are dippers on the burns, buzzards in the sky, woodland birds including green woodpeckers in the hazels & ash trees & you may even see a fox.

To return, you can either retrace the outward route or, for a change, climb up to the higher track at Red Brae & follow this back down the glen.

Warnings:
You probably should avoid this when the burns are in spate.
Remember wooden bridges are slippery when wet or frosty.
This is sheep country so dogs should be kept on a lead.
Folk like to camp where the 2nd & 3rd Inchna Burns meet the Menstrie Burn, so stealth may be required here in season.

*** The difficulty rating takes into account the possible poor GPS reception at some of the cache sites, especially at the 3rd Inchna Burn. We have taken readings at several different times & averaged them but don't expect great accuracy. The clues should help. ***

The 4th cache is at N56 09.ABC W003 51.DEF
