When I was in the parking area getting ready to hike the trails and hide a few caches I spotted 2 majestic Bald Eagles flying low overhead. I am not terribly old but I can remember a time in my life that it was a very big deal to spot one of these beautiful birds in the wild and I always point them out when I see them. That is where the name of this cache comes from.
You are searching for a camoed peanut butter jar. You can come out and search in the winter months but it will be tough to find if we have more than a foot of snow on the ground. There is a system of trails that will take you to within 40' of the cache so there is no need to bushwhack in from a half a mile away.
Sunfish Lake Park is considered by many to be the crown jewel of the Lake Elmo park system. Come on out for a day and discover this FREE hidden gem just minutes from the big city. The Lake Elmo Parks Department has made some tremendous improvements to the trails in the past few years. This is truly a hiker's and horse rider's paradise. With almost 300 acres and miles of trails it is easy to see why people love it here.
