Geocache Description:

This area is a serene portion of the Black River, which runs south from Black Lake in Olympia, Washington, USA. I have passed by this spot many times, but my hope is to someday travel south on the river with a kayak. Should be an easy park and grab for most people.

Black River Bridge

Did you know that this river runs all the way to the Pacific Ocean? Specifically, it joins the Chehalis River and eventually dumps into Grays Harbor, near Aberdeen, Washington. I don’t think it’s possible to kayak the entire way from the cache to Grays Harbor, but it would be a beautiful trip.

The cache is located just next to the only nearby parking; it is best and safest to approach from the east. Parking is limited and can only accommodate 2-3 vehicles. Unfortunately, this cache site is not very wheelchair accessible due to limited space, sorry. That said, YOU DO NOT NEED TO GO ON OR UNDER THE BRIDGE.

The cache container is a micro with only a log and space for very small items. Please bring your own pen/pencil.

*** Congratulations to JacksonClan and Sunnydae & Co for Co-FTF ***

This cache was placed using a rudimentary phone-based GPS, though I verified the coordinates using Google Maps. Please bear this in mind when seeking the cache, and I advise relying more on geosense than on the coordinates. If you get better coordinates, please post them with your log.

This is my first time hiding a geocache, so feedback is welcome as I plan to do more in the near future.
