Po Toi
Po Toi Island is a small island (3.69 km2) located a few km south-east off Stanley Peninsula. In it's heydays, until the 1970s, it was home to around 1,000 people, most of whom have since left. You can find many abandoned and ruined houses on this island, various temples, and the abandoned village school. It's main economic output was fish and seaweed.
On Sundays (and maybe Saturdays too) you can find several restaurants and small shops selling local products like dried seafood and dried seaweed.
Mo's Old House
This abandoned house is one of the few non-rock sights of Po Toi Island. It was built in the 1930s in Cheung Shek Pai village, one of the two main villages of the island. The other is Shan Liu, a bit further op the hill. Nowadays the few residents still inhabiting the island live in Tai Wan, near the ferry pier.
The house is considered a ghost house, and is the site of various ghost stories. During the Japanese occupation it housed Japanese soldiers. It is currently unmaintained and mostly fallen apart, enter at your own risk. It is clear that this used to be a really large mansion.
GPS signal is pretty jumpy at GZ so posted coordinates may not be very accurate; please refer to spoiler image. Cache is hidden under a large brick, please re-hide in similar manner to protect the cache from rain.
Getting there
Take a kaito from Aberdeen or Stanley, or rent a private boat. From the ferry pier a paved path leads up towards the house, a narrow side trail brings to to what appears to have been a moat. Cross the bridge and walk up the steps.
