Le Palais du Commerce et
la Bourse ont été construits de 1855 à 1860 par
l'architecte lyonnais René DARDEL (1796-1871). Inaugurés le 25 août
1860 par Napoléon III. Le Palais du Commerce fut classé Monument
Historique en 1994.
La statue extérieure aux pieds de l'escalier donnant sur la
place des Cordeliers, une allégorie où Saône et Rhône personnifiées
joignent leur bras pour pointer vers l'avenir, est une œuvre
en marbre blanc du sculpteur Wermar et date de 1905. Profitez-en
pour visiter la très jolie église Saint Bonaventure (faisait parti
du couvent des Cordeliers) (juste en face)

The Palace of Trade and
the Stock Exchange were built from 1855 to 1860 by
the architect René DARDEL Lyon (1796-1871). August 25, 1860 i
naugurated by Napoleon III. The Palais du Commerce was classified a
historical monument in 1994.
The statue outside the foot of the stairs overlooking the
Place des Cordeliers, where an allegory personified Saone and Rhone
joined their arms to point to the future, is a work in white marble
and the sculptor Wermar in 1905. Take the opportunity to visit the
beautiful Church of St. Bonaventure (part of the convent of the
Cordeliers). (opposite of the Palace of Trade)
