Cache is in the shadow of Carlisle Castle, and an easy walk from the city centre, along the City Play Trail on the way to Bitts Park. You will see a pair of comfy looking chairs, more art than for resting, by a mystery artist. Cache can be accessed and even reached from a wheelchair. Please be careful to replace cache EXACTLY as found, while no one is looking, and seal log bag to keep it dry. No room for swaps or pencil, so BYO...
Carlisle - the home of football! Much has been written about the famous castle, including it being the site of one of the first ever documented games of football in the world, along the lines of the modern game. In his diary Sir Francis Knollis wrote that in 1568, Mary Queen of Scots watched a game of football at Carlisle Castle, where she was being held under house arrest after fleeing from the Battle of Langside. The game was played on a pitch about 50 metres long, with goal posts at either end. The ball, about the size of a modern football, was only kicked, not handled, by 20 players, and the game lasted for 2 hours.

PS Finally the mystery is solved, thanks to the eagle eyes of the Brown Teddies, who spotted that the chairs were made by Amanda Wray in 2011, which I think is harder to spot than the cache itself!
UPDATE: SEPTEMBER 2015
Back up and running with the original type of 'container' to replace the temporary boring conventional one, so upped the difficulty rating. This keeps going missing, and as its hard to find for people actually looking for it, its highly unlikely to be muggled by chance, so PLEASE, when you replace it, make sure NO ONE can see you doing so, and put it back carefully so its not visible to passers-by, thanks. And remember, this type of cache is like a 5 star difficulty for newbies, but should be a 1 star for experienced cachers, so given it an inbetween rating!
