Geocache Description:

I won a cache container at a recent geocaching event and needed a cool spot to put it. I was very impressed with the number and variety of flowers in the Alae Cemetery and decided that this would be the spot for the first unknown cache in the Hilo area. The coordinates given are to the parking area for this cache. To find the actual location you will have to project waypoints, search for gravestones, and do some simple math. Using the directions below fill in the missing parts of the final coordinates. N 19° A.B W 155° C.D A: From the parking spot walk around the corner and find the electric meter for the building. A is the H.E.L. CO number's last two digits + 2 B: Find the Ueda's. From the start coordinates project a new waypoint that is 90' at a bearing of 19 degrees. Add together the last 2 digits of Masako and Hakaru's birth years and Hakaru and Sakiko's death years. (Ex: 1911 +1923= 34). C: Look to the left and you will see many flat white gravestones. C is the number of white topped stones/3 then add 1. D: Find the Kawakami's. From the start coordinates project a new waypoint that is 97' away at a bearing of 90 degrees. Add together all the day of the month numbers you find on the gravestone. (Ex: May 2, 1923 and June 5, 1933 would be 2+5=7). Multiply this by the number of coins on the gravestone (look close). Finally add 235. There is an unactivated travel bug for FTF! Have fun!
