Fishing at Sleepy Hollow
This is a wherigo cache. It is not located at the posted coordinates. In order to discover the location of the cache, you must play the Fishing at Sleepy Hollow wherigo cartridge. Some Garmin GPS units are wherigo compatible. Also, a pocket PC or smart phone with an installed wherigo player can be used to play this cartridge. You can download the cartridge here:
Cartridge Description
Welcome to the Sleepy Hollow Fishing Tournament! In this tournament you will attempt to catch big fish so you can earn big points. The faster you earn points, the sooner you will claim your trophy. Once you have accumulated 100 points, you will receive your Sleepy Hollow Fishing Tournament Trophy.
There are five fishing zones. Your time limit for each zone is five minutes. You will not need to fish in all of the zones if you earn points fast enough. If you fail to accumulate the required 100 points after completing all five zones, you must go to the penalty fishing zone and start over with ZERO points. There is no time limit in the penalty zone. You will need to earn a total of 50 points in the penalty zone to receive your trophy. The trophy will contain the final coordinates of the cache location.
Important Message
It is intended that this wherigo cartridge be played while using a watercraft such as a canoe, kayak, rowboat, etc. It may be possible to go ice fishing and walk the zones if conditions are right. Any person doing an ice walk to complete this cartridge does so at his/her own risk!
Location and Permission
This cartridge must be played at Sleepy Hollow State Park. A Michigan Recreation Passport is required for entry into the park. A daily pass can be purchased at the park if necessary. Permission for placement of this cache has been granted by Sleepy Hollow State Park.
Cache and Logging Information
The cache is a peanut butter jar. Please be aware of the possibility of muggles while searching for this cache. Trade evenly when possible. Try to close the lid tightly to keep moisture from entering the container. In order to log this cache as found, you must physically find the cache and sign the log sheet. Upon completion of this cartridge, you will receive a completion code. You must email this code to me via my geocaching profile. Failure to sign the log and/or send the completion code will result in deletion of your online found log.
