Arriving here the first thing you’ll notice is a large oak tree that was planted on ANZAC Day, 1943 by the head Teacher of Tawa Flat School, Margaret E Magill as a memorial to a teacher and former pupils of Tawa Flat School and Takapu Aided School who died on active service in three wars.

At its foot is a plaque placed by the Tawa Historical Society, ANZAC Day 2008

The cache is NOT located at the tree, but offset to respect the location. Standing in front of the plaque, the cache can be located approx 29m away on a bearing of 258deg True.
Please bring your own pen or pencil to sign the log as the cache doesn’t contain one (you’ll understand why).
