A 2.4 litre ClipLock container stuffed full of goodies. It entails a short, (20 - 30mins approx), fairly energetic climb up a heather covered hillside with no clearly defined tracks to follow.
Grey Mist is the literal translation of Ceo Glais which is the name of the small roadside loch from where you will set out for this cache. The loch is favoured more by Pike fishers than by those of us after brown trout. It drains into nearby Loch Duntelchaig. There will be many ways of approaching this cache but if you park at the indicated co-ordinates (N57 19 610 W004 21 057)there is a path which will start you off in the right direction. If you follow this path up to the right and then double back under the electricity pylon, then head directly up the hill, you will be going in roughly the right direction. There aren't any discernable paths or sheep tracks leading to the cache so you will be plodding through fairly deep heather and in the summer months, bracken. You will see a large mast at the top of the hill, don't worry, you don't have to climb that far, the cache is about halfway up the hill. Assuming there is no "Grey Mist" when you are at the cache site, you will have a nice view back down to Loch Ceo Glais. (You can also see Gerryu2's "Wee House with a View" from here!). The cache container is bulging with goodies suitable for old, young and even the furry variety of geocachers. For the first few finders we would say don't feel obliged to leave a swap, just take what you fancy as a reward for making the effort to find it. This will leave a bit of space in the box for swaps in the future. Although the terrain rating is quite high on this one, it should be within the capabilities of cachers of average fitness and ability. Very small children may struggle with the depth of the heather.
