2nd part of the Cranage "WARZONE" Series. Located close to another of the Cranage pillboxes.
The cache location affords a reasonable view of another of the RAF Cranage pillboxes (located in field opposite) According to Pastscape this is a Second World War type 24 pillbox. The pillbox was constructed sometime after the spring of 1940 and is built of brick and concrete. It is hexagonal on plan, with an internal ricochet wall and stepped gun loopholes in each face. The structure survives to a height of 1.5 metres, has a diameter of 9.2 metres and each of the walls are 5 metres in length. There are traces of an entrance porch or blast wall on the northeast side.
