GAS-N-GO Traditional Cache
North Coast Cacher: Well, looks like K-DOT is claiming this area as their own. Hiding spot has been moved a significant distance from original spot. Container probably destroyed/missing. So, after visiting site and not seeing anywhere safe enough to put a replacement container (and to avoid any potential confrontations with K-DOT), decided to let this cache go. Bummer!!! Really liked this cache - one of my favorites. THANKS!!! to ALL who visited this site - greatly appreciated!!

Drive by this spot quite a bit either going east/west on I-70 or north/south on KS Hwy 99. Always thought that a cache needed to be placed here to honor the gas station/convenience store that once inhabited this location.
The store that was here went out of business and was torn down for whatever reason not to long ago - say roughly within last 2 years as of this writing.
Anyway, cache is placed in an easily accessable area - there is no need to go exploring the large piles of boulders, concrete with rebar dangling all over, piles of cut trees, piles of railroad ties, etc - that is KDOT property, so stay out of there.
Also, DO NOT CROSS over/through any barriers/gates/fences/etc. that may be in the immediate area and DO NOT CROSS over any barriers blocking access to where the gas station used to be.
Should be able to find this cache day or night. Can park within inches of hiding spot. Cache placed on parking side of barrier (south side). No need to go on north side of any barriers.
There are three (3) barriers that have two (2) each holes at bottom where a forklift would fit/lift barrier - that is your search target. Now which barrier was the cache placed at???
Cache that you are searching for is a SMALL CREDIT CARD HOLDER.
Due to comments received about the D/T ratings here: YES, people, the D/T ratings are probably a little higher than need to be. This is mainly because searching for this cache in the WINTER TIME may pose a challenge. The area is a good spot for the highway department to deposit snow when plowing the roads. At times, there can be quite a pile build up.
Also, this is a good spot for people to sometimes park their vehicles and hitch a ride to work, sort of an unofficial park-n-ride. Also, Kansas Highway Patrol and County Sheriff park there periodically as well.
Thus, the very explicit hint/clue for those persons that are passing through the area when there is primarily snow at this location or other objects setting there. A lot of people will attempt this cache just to see other vehicles parked here, so they just keep on going.
IF nobody likes the D/T ratings and/or they think they are too high - THEN JUST PASS ON BY!!
UPDATE June 01, 2012: Cache container was indeed missing after reading the last visitor logging a DNF. Container has been replaced; coordinates the same, just differnet spot on object. Container is better secured using an idea I came across in the Wichita, KS, area.
UPDATE November 02, 2013: Well, there appears to now be a concrete barrier and a gate that has been recently placed at this location. Access to cache is now barred. Found the replacement container that someone was kind enough to place. Now that there are barriers to location, found another hiding spot OUTSIDE any/all barriers/fences/gates/etc. Should be a quick find here and updated coordinates as well. Will see how this spot fares - may have to put this cache to rest in the future - maybe.
UPDATE August 22, 2015 - Made a maintenance visit. Container missing, probably washed away when some dumb@$# could not properly replace that chunk of asphalt that keeps cache in place. Replaced container. BEWARE all the pooooo-filled diapers and the SMELL!!!
