Geocache Description:

I chose the beautiful little town of Tooborac (94kms north of Melbourne on the northern Highway) as the launching place of my very first cache. I actually began “scouting” this location out about 6 months ago when I started regularly travelling between Kilmore and Bendigo.

I say Scouting as the two animals at this location, remind me of the importance of cleaning up as we go. When I was a Scout as a boy, we always conducted an Emu bob to clean-up each campsite before leaving. So when I found this location, I thought WOW, a way of bringing home to all Cachers the importance of CITO (Cache In, Trash Out) not just at our Caching events, but also when we visit caches other than our own.
About Tooborac, a small town nestled in a picturesque valley surrounded by ancient granite boulders and farm land, the township of Tooborac offers a unique opportunity to film makers, allowing them to capture both farm land and undulating country.

The wineries, the historical local pub, general store and boutique accommodation ensure Tooborac maintains its reputation for quiet rural charm.

Historical by nature the main feature of this hamlet is its local watering hole, the Tooborac Hotel. This 150 year old establishment houses the history of Tooborac in a nutshell and is well worth a visit.

The cache terrain has been placed at 1.5 difficulty, this is moreso in relation to the wheel-chair cachers, who may have difficulty reaching the cache and replacing it. A wheel-chair will however be able to access this location.

The cache difficulty is placed at 3.0 due to the high number of muggle transports that drive past this location every hour.

Beaware of your youngsters here, as you are close to the highway's passing traffic.
