The cache is a small water proof tube hidden along a public road. There is parking available at a nearby church car park
The Beech Hill Hotel and surrounding grounds were used by the United States Army Air Force as an Ammunition Depot.
It was also the base of the 1st Provisional Marine Battalion of the United States Marine Corps between May 1942 and August 1944.
There are 2 Nissen huts remaining in the grounds with the memorial on the right in the grounds of the Hotel.

This is the location of the first WW2 presence of the American Army in Europe. The hotel was used an the American Army HQ for Atlantic operations
