Geocache Description:

One of a number of caches along the Mangaone Stream, which cuts through north and west Palmerston North.

There is public walkway atop the stopbanks along both sides of the stream, and the city council have laid a nice track along one side. This walkway is over 9km long and makes for a great family cycle trip. Check out the stream out after a heavy rain - it is quite a sight. There is a photo in the gallery showing this!

The track starts at the north corner out of town, just off Milson Line, at S40°19.530' E175°36.087'. The other end is at the end of Totora Road, at S40º23.272', E175º34.475', however there are numerous entrances onto the track, wherever the stream is crossed by a road.

The log book and container lid have a coordinate part for the final cache of the series, Mangaone Stream 5.

The railway crosses the stream here. Note that the track can be quite muddy and slippery after a heavy rain.

Cache is a 200ml Sistema container. FTF gets to FTF a new bug
