Geocache Description:

An easy park and grab. 15 minute parking is available at the Visitor Center. Take some time to learn about the many cool things to do in the marina. BYOP!

Interesting points: Marina del Rey is one of the largest man-made marinas in the world. Catacorner to the visitors center, in an unassuming building, houses the USC Information Sciences Institute. This instititute, among other things, spearheaded the development of the internet and the domain name system. They also helped to refine the TCP/IP system. Directly across the street, there is an open shopping center with great places to shop and eat and cool music playing all the time.
