Grand Cathedral Grove Traditional Cache
Two Grands: I am sorry for the cachers who were unable to get to or find this container. For several months BC Parks had this side of The Grove closed and when it was finally opened we were unable to get here for a while. We are going to let this location go and allow another cacher to place a cache for others to find.

PLEASE DO NOT PARK ON THE HIGHWAY - USE THE PARKING LOTS
Cathedral Grove on Vancouver Island is known the world over for its large, tall trees and general beauty and tranquility. Most people go to the other side of the road to see the largest tree in this Provincial Park because it is over 800 years old and it has grown 250 feet tall. This side of the park also has some very large trees and it is well worth the walk - but the BC Parks people would like you to stay on the paths. They are easy to see. Walking off the paths means you are walking on the roots of a whole lot of trees. That is like people walking on your toes all day - so paths are good, right! While you are searching for GZ, please take a minute to truly see what is all around you and enjoy this most special place - now one of the Seven Wonders claimed by Port Alberni. Because coords may be troublesome for you due to the large trees that live here and welcome you, here is a pretty good hint: This area of the park is more secluded, and the trail here does not have the guides along the edge - but the trail is still very easy to follow. When you reach GZ you will have an example of what the wind can do to these very large trees, this one is a cedar tree. In the summer time you will be blessed to have big maple leaves overhead, showing you the maple leaf that is on our Canadian flag - truly the Big Leaf Maple. DO NOT STROLL OFF THE PATH. You only need to step one foot towards GZ to get the cache. Please re-hide carefully and take care not to damage anything in the park. As the path does 'bend' here, please be aware that friendly, inquisitive muggles can arrive very quickly. PLEASE NOTE; Logs posted with spoiler pictures could possibly be deleted.
