This cache is to challenge cachers to go after finds of non-traditional cache types. This cache IS at the listed coordinates, but in order to log a find, you must meet the requirements explained below.
As I have cached over the last three and half years, I have found that I often enjoy the non-traditional cache types more than the tradional ones. So, I have set a goal of mine that at least 20% of my finds be of the non-traditional types and that each of the five common non-traditional types (unknown, multi-cache, virtual, earthcache, and letterbox hybrid) represent at least 1% of my finds.
The requirements for this challenge arise out of my goal to search for more non-traditional caches:
1. Your TOTAL number of finds of non-traditional caches must be greater than or equal to 10% of your total finds (not quite as strict as my personal goal of 20%).
2. Your number of finds of unknowns, multi-caches, and earthcaches must EACH be greater than or equal to 1% of your total finds, and your COMBINED number of finds of virtuals and letterbox hybrids must be greater than or equal to 1% of your total finds.
3. You must have at least 500 total cache finds.
Note 1: You may check your percentages by looking under the "Statistics" tab on your geocaching.com profile.
Note 2: You must meet the requirements of the challenge at the time of logging your find.
Note 3: It is not necessary for you to post how you meet the requirements of the challenge as I will be able to check your profile statistics when you log your find. But you may wish to post your statistics in your log to give others an idea of how you have met the challenge.
Note 4: Comments in your log about your enjoyment of non-traditional caches are always welcome!
As an example of meeting the requirements, here is how I would meet the requirements of this challenge as of its posting (if I chose to log my own challenge cache):
Folboter JAF has 4367 total finds:
1069 (24.5%) are non-traditional caches
679 (15.5%) are unknown caches
128 (2.9%) are earthcaches
85 (1.9%) are multi-caches
114+47=161 (3.7%) are virtuals and letterbox hybrids
Please do not log this cache as a find if you do not meet the challenge. If you do, I will unfortunately be forced to unceremoniously and summarily eradicate your log (and I don’t want to have to do that)!
A note about the cache hide: as with most of my unknown-type caches, the puzzle (or in this case the challenge) is the difficult part; the hide should be easy to find (i.e., the difficulty of the cache represents your toils while completing the requirements; the actual cache hide is a 1.0/2.5).
