This cache which is a micro is hidden outside the railway station in Ballina. The station opened on 19 May 1873 and is operated by Iarnród Éireann. The branch runs from here to Manulla Junction on the Westport to Dublin Heuston line. The northern extension from Manulla was begun with the opening of the line to Foxford in 1868. Ballina was connected in 1873 and an extension to Killala was opened in 1893, and subsequently closed in 1937. To find the cache you have to examine a big old fashioned end of the line Buffer outside on the footpath. Beware of Muggles on account of Pub across the road. Also please try not to be seen retrieving and replacing the container and reseal it properly.
