The airport buyout has turned O'Connor Park into a Lonely Park. The City of Bridgeton still owns and maintains this park- evidenced by the park signage, new concrete steps to the pavilion, bathrooms open and maintained in season, and grass mowed. However, due to it's isolation and lack of surrounding neighborhoods since the buyout was completed, it gets much less visitors. Also you will notice the large amount of park waste being dumped behind the bathroom area. I'm not sure what's up with that, but it speaks to the lesser priority the City of Bridgeton places on this park. Even so, it's still a nice park and I hope you will enjoy your time here.
Be forewarned you will navigate a big hill (mowed) to reach this cache and expect a 20 foot dense bushwack to GZ. You may also see airplanes overhead since it is close to the new airport runway!
