JamGuys' Cold Weather Treasure Series III: #2 Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

JamGuys: I braved life and limb to check on this cache after I learned that someone had recently solved the puzzle. The cache was still there but so were the thorns, mosquitoes, mud, heat, stagnant pond, more thorns, more mosquitoes and what I'm assuming are chigger bites that are still red and itchy on my arms and legs three weeks after the fact. I wouldn't let my worst enemy go hunting for this cache and hortcacher is no enemy of mine. Thanks to all who played the game but it's long past time for this series to be laid to rest.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

SERIES: This is the second of the four puzzle caches in this year's JamGuys' Cold Weather Treasure Series. As before, up to three clues for solving the puzzles will be released on consecutive Friday nights between 8 and 9 p.m. but ONLY after FTF honors have been claimed. Please be advised that this series is especially designed for those of you who enjoy both a mental and a physical challenge! Here is the other entry in the series so far:

JamGuys' Cold Weather Treasure Series III: #1 - Space Rock!

SAFETY: When setting out on the hunt, please do yourself a favor and let someone know where you're going as the area where the cache is located is quite desolate. Dress for the weather, ensure that your cell phone is charged, pack fresh batteries for your GPSr, and carry something to eat and drink in case you become disoriented or lost. As they say, it's better to be safe than sorry!

Oh, I should warn those of you who like to go barging around in the woods in the middle of the night that, depending on the approach you take to get to this cache, you could encounter a steep drop-off and suffer serious injury if you slip and fall so please be sure to watch your step!

CACHE: As before, the cache for this puzzle is a small but nicely stocked ammo can. The First to Find prize is a gorgeous 2.125" shiny silver on gold Tengwar Nawwal geocoin. In addition, the next FIVE individual cachers or teams to visit the cache will be rewarded with an exquisitely designed antique silver geocoin, the identity of which I'm going to keep a secret for now because the artwork is thematically related to the puzzle.

BONUS CACHE: Similar to the last two years, there will be a Bonus Cache with prizes for the first SIX individual cachers or teams to find it! That's because the Bonus Cache prizes this year will be derived from a complete set of six 2011 Compass Rose geocoins, INCLUDING the Limited Edition antique bronze High Noon version for the FTF! These 6-coin sets sold out in less than two hours after release and are already showing up on a well known online auction site at highly inflated prices! Just be sure to obtain the partial bonus cache co-ords (being released in the form A.C, B.D) located on the inside cover of the logbooks for the first four caches.

PUZZLE SOLVING HINTS: For those folks who are either new or ambivalent to puzzle caches and would like some advice as to how best to go about solving them, here's a link to a popular series put together by ePeterso2, a geocacher in Florida: Puzzle Solving 101.
