On November 11, 1926 U.S. Route 66 was born. It followed old trails, such as the Beale's Wagon Road (GC3B1A1), It has been called the Mother Road, Will Rogers Highway, the Main Street of America and "the most famous road" in America. It ran from Chicago to Los Angeles. It was officially removed from the national highway system on June 27, 1985 when Interstate 40 was completed.
