The original cemetery of Ravenna was located at the intersection
of Riddle and Sycamore, but as the town grew too close for comfort,
this area of N. Chestnut was chosen for the new cemetery. It
remained nameless until 1880, when the name "Maple Grove" was
suggested.
While this cache is not located near any grave sites, if you
have the time you should wander around a bit and explore the
cemetery. It's a cool place! This cache is just off a road between
two of the small lakes located in the cemetery. Originally swamps,
they were cleaned out and filled with water in 1885.
Remember - this is located in a cemetery, so please be
respectful and adhere to the dawn to dusk time constraints.
