Geocache Description:

The cache container is a plastic M&M tube with a log only. It is not located at the listed coordinates. BYOP

By the 1890’s the Meyersdale, PA was a prosperous agricultural community and growing transportation hub. Meyersdale annually hosts the Pennsylvania Maple Festival. The listed coordinates will take you to a Mural in Meyersdale, PA entitled “Welcome to Meyersdale” by artist Carolyn Quinn. Quinn was one of 12 artists to participate in the Trail Town Public Art Program. The program was one of 12 Regional Connections projects. In total 14 works of public art have been added to seven communities along the Great Allegheny Passage.

The intent of the regional program was to connect communities to the Great Allegheny Passage and to each other. An unexpected and most delightful outcome was the way that the communities connected with the artists and how residents came together to see the project completed.
