Geocache Description:

A circular walk to solve number clues leading to the waypoint of where the cache is hidden. The walk is set in the old market town of Ashby de la Zouch and is suitable for pushchairs and wheelchairs as it is on town paths. A wheelchair user might need assistance to reach the actual cache. The cache is a small plastic box and suitable for children’s swaps and trackables. Beware of muggles lots of school children may be about.

WALK DE LA ASHBY

This waypoint is for the start, from which you start your circular walk around the market town of Ashby de la Zouch. You need to solve a number of clues along your walk to discover the waypoint for the hidden cache.

BY THE LIBRARY IN NORTH STREET

This car park is for a maximum stay of three hours and presently costs 50p 1 hour, 80p 2 hours and £1.20 for three hours. There are other places to park - but beware our traffic wardens are good at their job.

At The Green you need to find a plaque which tells you about the Elsmore Green Horse Fairs.

C = Add the two digits together of the ?? th Century that the horse fairs are held in.

From the roundabout walk down Brook Street towards the Baptist Church.

F = Use the last digit of the year the Baptist Church was built.

Walk towards the War Memorial at the end of Brook Street

E = Find out how many miles to Ypress and then use the last digit

Stay on this side of the road and start to walk up Market Street.

D = Find the black and white Tudor Building near Tudor Court and use the third digit of
the date on the down pipe.

Then go back to the zebra/pelican crossing and cross the road and look for the following clues.

I = Look on the Topograph for the Rotary International Club’s fiftieth birthday dates and add together the first digit from each date.

J = Use the first digit of Nat West Banks address in Market Street

H = Take the date the Town Hall was built and deduct the fourth digit from the second digit. Then walk up further on this side of the road.

G = Find the ?? th century Coaching Inn and ______ CLUE CHANGED BECAUSE SIGN REMOVED. But beware of the black bear that lives there and Dick Turpin who is renowned to visit. Add up the number of letters in the name of the Inn and minus one will give you the correct number.

Cross the road on the zebra/pelican crossing and walk down Market Street to.

A = The chemist which was established in the reign of George the ? .

Now turn off Market Street and walk down The Mews.

B = Sixteen times by Bullens ? black and gold gates.

You should now have solved the waypoint for the WALK DE LA ASHBY cache.

Please beware of muggles lots of school children may be about.
