The geocache that used to be at this rest area,
TRAVEL BUG HOTEL (GCT4CH), was one of the oldest active caches
in Lapeer County when it went missing and was archived earlier this
year. That cache was one of the first rest area caches, and we
believe the first TB Hotel, that we ever found when we started
geocaching, so we were a little sad to see it go.
After several months, no one else had yet placed a cache at this
rest area, so we decided to hide an ammo can here for eastbound
geocachers to stretch their legs. We decided not to call this new
cache a TB Hotel, but there certainly is room for some bugs and
coins in the cache, especially those headed to Canada.
We placed this cache very close to where the old cache was
located, but we hid it much differently. The woods at the cache are
pretty open, but they are a little denser at the parking area, so
there could be a little bushwhacking depending on where you enter
the woods.
We hope that you enjoy your rest stop.
Congrats to woodtrain on being First to Find!
