This cache has been archived.

The Seanachai: Greetings from Geocaching.com,

While we feel that Geocaching.com should hold the location for you for a reasonable amount of time, we cannot do so indefinitely. In light of the lack of communication regarding this cache it has been archived to free up the area for new placements. If you haven’t done so already, please pick up this cache or any remaining bits as soon as possible. If you are in the process of replacing or repairing your cache please e-mail me in response to this archival and, if possible, I will unarchive your cache.

I want to thank you for the time that you have taken to contribute in the past and I am looking forward to your continued contributions to the sport of Geocaching.

Geocache Description:

Team Trunk Monkey's 81 Distance / Terrain Combo Challenge

5/3 - BIG CHALLENGE

This cache IS at the posted coordinates, and you may actually visit the cache, exchange trackables, and sign the logbook at any time. However to log this find online as "Found It" you must complete the challenge as listed below. If you log a "Found It" online without completing the challenge, I will email you asking to change it to a "Write a Note" if there is no response within 7 days I will delete the log.

At the cache location, there is a well-paved shoulder to the road, please pull over completely, all wheels past the white line, and be careful when exiting your vehicle.

So here's the BIG CHALLENGE:

You must find 50 large caches.

Here's the fine print:

It should be exciting to see how many people are working on this challenge, so if you are ready to accept it, Post a Note to the Cache page, and list the Caches that you may already have that qualify in this format, in the order they were found:

Date found
MM/DD/YYYY - GCxxxx - Name of cache - Short Description
MM/DD/YYYY - GCxxxx - Name of cache - Short Description
MM/DD/YYYY - GCxxxx - Name of cache - Short Description
MM/DD/YYYY - GCxxxx - Name of cache - Short Description

As you complete more caches toward this challenge, simply edit your post with the new information. This will allow me to verify them as you progress, and everyone can see who is getting close to completing the challenge!

You may actually visit the final cache and sign the logbook at anytime after you have accepted the challenge, Just update your original "Write a note" with a line at the top of the list indicating when you signed the log on the final cache, but DO NOT post your "Found It" log online until the date that you actually complete the challenge. This will allow folks from out of state or local area to sign the logbook when they're in the area, and not have to make a trip all the way back, wasting more fossil fuels. (Trying to keep this "green".)

All your finds are eligible for consideration, new and old, as long as they are a large physical container.
(no event, webcam, earthcache, or virtual caches that happen to be listed as a large)

I will also allow you to count your own hides toward this challenge!
(Hopefully this may promote some more good large caches in the area)

Sometimes caches listed as "Unknown Size" or "Other Size" may very well actually qualify as large...
These may be considered toward completion of this challenge if their internal volume is 5 US gallons or larger.
For these to count give rough description of the type of container (i.e. 5-gallon bucket, rubbermaid tote, Small Shed, etc…) If the size is not obvious (like a 5-gallon bucket, or a 55-gallon barrel) take measurements, and give the dimensions of the container, so the approximate volume can be calculated. If you don't happen to have a tape measure on you (and who really does?) use something creative to measure it out, that you can compare to later… like a credit card, dollar bill, your shoe, dog's leash, whatever is handy. Then measure THAT item when you get home, and get approximate dimensions that way! (You will need length, width & height)

Occasionally, a cache will be listed incorrectly (i.e. - micros & smalls listed as large, either in error or intentionally) Not trying to be nit-picky here, I know it is a judgement call on the part of the Cache Owner to determine the appropriate size, and opinion varies, however… If a cache is found to be blatantly mislabeled as a Large, but is found to be what any reasonable person would consider a small or micro, it will not be counted. This is to prevent cheating towards this challenge cache. For the purpose of this requirement, I think we can agree it is fair that anything less than 1 gallon in volume will be too small to qualify as a large. There will be a bit of an honor system on this requirement, but I will still check the listing & logs, and contact the cache owner in cases where the size is in question. Please, if you happen to find one be honest, and let me know. Any caches found to fit this description, will be added to a "Black List" here on this page.

If a cache owner has changed & edited the cache size from a Large down to something smaller, but you found it, and logged your find before the change, when it was still a large, this will still count, as long as the cache owner has made a note stating when the change occurred, somewhere on the cache page, either in the description, or in a log.

There will be a prize for the first person to complete this challenge.

This is a cache in our series:
Team Trunk Monkey's 81 Difficulty / Terrain Combo Challenge

In an effort to publish more caches in the area south of Murfreesboro, we considered a power trail along Manchester Pike. Nothing against power trails, as they can be allot of fun condensed into a short amount of time, but we wanted to do something different, and add to the diversity and range of different types of caches in the area at the same time.
There are 9 different star levels for Difficulty & Terrain, making for 81 possible combinations. I'm sure you have all seen the grid displaying all the different possibilities. We are making it our goal, a personal challenge of sorts, to publish 81 caches in the area between Murfreesboro & Manchester. Unlike a power trail, where we could have them all published at once, this series will be a process, and these caches will be published as we find appropriate locations for all the various combinations. We will also be trying to incorporate as many possible different cache types too, so expect some multi-caches, offset caches, puzzle caches, Letterbox Hybrid caches, and maybe even an Earthcache if we can find an appropriate geological oddity in the area.

So we hope you will enjoy these caches as much as we are going to enjoy putting them out there for you.
