Geocache Description:

One of a number of caches along the Mangaone Stream, which cuts through north and west Palmerston North.

There is public walkway atop the stopbanks along both sides of the stream, and the city council have laid a nice track along one side. This walkway is over 9km long and makes for a great family cycle trip. Check out the stream out after a heavy rain - it is quite a sight.

The track starts at the north corner out of town, just off Milson Line, at S40° 19.530' E175° 36.087'. The other end is at the end of Totora Road, at S40º 23.272', E175º 34.475', however there are numerous entrances onto the track, wherever the stream is crossed by a road.

Here the track moves a little away from the stream and travels through the Awapuni Raceway. You are welcome, but your dogs must be on leash. No dogs between 5am and 9am. I do not recommend hunting for this on a race day!

This cache is a 700ml Sistema container, located at S40º 22.9AB, E175º 34.4CD. Each waypoint contains a part of the coordinates for the final cache:
A: The position in the alphabet of the very first letter on the information signs. These are at each road crossing. If two digits, add them together.
