Welcome to the Village of Bergen NY. Bergen was originally settled about 1805 when a road was built from Le Roy to Lake Ontario. The village was incorporated in 1877. Bergen is about .6 square miles in size and has a population of about 1250 people.
This geo-cache is a 3 part multi. The first waypoint is located in Hickory Park. Very few communities have such a large beautiful park within their borders. This 10-acre park features two pavilions, a playground, two baseball fields, bathrooms and basketball courts. Hickory Park has been the scene of many carnivals, picnics, celebrations, ball games, and the annual Bergen Park Day. A memorial rock with plaque and flag pole greets visitors and reminds us of the men and women of our community who have sacrificed their lives for their country. The plaque can be found at the posted coordinates. From this plaque you will find the information needed to get the coordinates for way point two.
The coordinates for WP2 are N 43 05.ABC - W 077 56.DEF
The number for A is equal to the number of people listed on the plaque that have the last name 'White".
The number for B is equal to the number of letters in G. Irving's last name
The number for C is equal to the number of woman listed on the plaque minus 1
The number for D is equal to the number of letters in Andrew's and Arthur's last name
The number for E is equal to the number of letters in Gilbert B's last name
The number for F is equal to the number of woman listed on the plaque plus 6
With this information you should be able to make your way to WP2.
Way Point 2 is located in Carpenter Park. Recently renovated, Carpenter Park has a long history. The fountain in the park is reminiscent of the early 1900's when the park held a statue of a little boy holding an umbrella over his head. Originally named Burrows Park, the park was enlarged and renamed Carpenter Park in 1910 with the donation of land from the Carpenter Family. The park's location makes it a perfect place to relax and watch the trains go by. At the coordiantes you will find an historical marker. From this marker you will be able to determin the coordinats for WP3

The number for G is equal to the fourth number listed in the first date on the marker.
The number for H is equal to the third number in the second date on the marker.
The number for I is equal to the last number in the third date on the marker.
The number for J is equal to second number in the date that the district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places
The number for K is equal to number fo 'Q's' that are on the marker.
The number for L is equal to the first number in the fourth date on the marker.
With this information you should be able to make your way to the final cache location.
