This is the third hide in a series that deals with things that have happened to me while in a car. I was not the best of drivers as a younger man and had many tickets and wrecks to prove it.

This one happened before The Eagle Eye and I were married. We had went to the store earlier that night and bought some items and left them at the counter. Young love, I guess, we were more interested in each other than what we were doing. We didn't realize that we had left it until we got back to her parents house. As soon as we realized it we jumped back in to the truck and took off. The store would be closing soon so I had to hurry. The Eagle Eye was sitting in the middle and there really wasn't a seat there, so no seat belt, Silly girl. Well any way I approached this curve way to fast and lost control. There was a car coming from the other way and I passed them in the ditch on their side of the road. This was the same pickup that I had just repaired from Car, Me, X #2. This time I bent the front left axle and tore up the fender and bumper as well. We managed to get the truck back to her parents house but we never did get the stuff from the store.

While here if you look to the north you will see some huge rail road ties that are put up this side of the fence. There have been so many wrecks here the land owner got tired of repairing his fences so he put these up to prevent it. I watched over the years as the fence posts in the back got larger and larger as he rebuilt his fence. What you see there now is the end result.
