Container hidden at ground level in conservation park.
This cache could be attempted on your way to or from Beechmont. It is also close to Canungra.
The Canungra Conservation Park is well worth a visit. Unspoiled, it mustn't get many visitors because there's hardly any litter. But the best thing is the wonderful tinkling bell sound of the bellbirds who live here. Of course there are other birds too, and you may hear bush animals bounding off through the bush, but the bellbirds do it for me.
The cache is a little way in, after a bend in the track so you will not be visible from the road. It is placed off the track but the bush plants are not too thick and you can get through without bush bashing. You can park at the entrance to the park on the western side of the road,but do watch out if crossing the road because there is a turning lane into the army barracks opposite the park.
I have visited three times now and every time I have been just as delighted as I was the first time. Just remember you are "in the bush" and watch for the usual hazards. Some lantana near the cache site could give you scratches. Long sleeves would be a good idea.
