Geocache Description:

A small cache hidden on Veteran's Day. Stealth will be key during business hours.

You are looking for a small metallic container held in place with a strong magnet. The log book/stash note is sealed in a small zip lock inside the metal can. The container is painted to match its back ground.

It was back in 1899 that a small group of veterans of the Spanish American war got together and decided to found what would become the Veterans of Foreign Wars. This year the organization is 112 years old, and going strong. Long before I had any idea what the VFW was about, I would admire the impressive military equipment that would be parked out front. As a little kid on road trips I was always tickled when dad (a Korean war Vet) would pull off the road at the various VFW posts and let us kids climb on the tanks, cannons, and anti-aircraft guns. Finding this cache will give you a chance to check out a very cool old anti-tank gun at the Greencastle VFW post. Think about four or five teenagers hunkered down behind this thing looking right down the barrel of a German Panzer or Tiger while fireing away like the Fourth of July. That's pure guts. These static monuments to the soldiers that manned them are everywhere. Too bad these stalwart armaments are broadly disregarded by folks blowing by; failing to remember where these pieces of history came from. And who stood behind them.
You might want to park in front of where you'll be looking when the post is open. I was doing the bit where you act like your GPSr is a camera when I was hiding it. Good luck finding this cache.
