Chicory, Cichorium intybus, is a plant that grows in the wild down in the South, although it originated in Europe. It has a small bright blue flower. It has a bitter taste and has been used in cooking and as a substitute or flavoring for coffee. I'm not sure if it can be smoked, but I'm sure someone has tried it.
