maius used to be part of the months of the year letterbox series, unfortunately the original cache with the stamp and pad disappeared and since then has been replaced minus the pad and stamp, sorry it’s now a traditional cache.

In the Roman calendar, Maius, related to the Greek goddess Maia, the mother of Hermes (who was called Mercury in Roman mythology).
An Old English name for this month was thrimilce, three-milk, because cows were very productive at this time and could be milked three times a day.
The undergrowth for this cache is a bit wild. please return the cache back to it’s original place, thanks jim.
JUST ONE NOTE, PLEASE KEEP AN EYE ON THE KIDS. IN THE VICINITY THERE ARE A COUPLE OF SMALL GAPS IN THE UNDERGROWTH NEARBY THAT LEADS TO THE RAILWAY LINE, FURTHER ON WESTWARDS THERES A RAILING WITH SMALL VERTICAL GAPS, A SMALL YOUNG CHILD COULD SQUEEZE THROUGH AND DROPS TO A FAST FLOWING STREAM (about 25 mtrs off the cycleway path northwards with grasses, plants above knee height)
I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND FINDING THE SERIES OF CACHES ALONG THIS ROUTE IN THE EVENING AS THERE IS NO STREET LIGHTING AND A BIT REMOTE. During the day there are plenty of dog walkers, cyclists and people out just for a walk.
