Park is open from dawn to dusk, and there is video surveillance, so no night caching is permitted.
Only accessible from OH-203. Please do not try to find it from OH-4 or Newmans-Cardington Rd. There is a pull off on OH-4, but that is private property if you try to come from that side.
This cache is just located off of the walking path at Green Spur Nature Preserve. There is NO NEED TO BUSHWHACK. After parking at the gate (even if the gate is open, please park at the gate), continue to follow the gravel path back. Just after the gravel ends you will see a trail on your right that passes between some concrete structures. Continue to follow this path until you find the cache. The trail is right along the property line. The property line is well marked, but please do not stray from the trail.
From Marion County Parks District's webpage.
"Greenspur is a seven acre wooded area. It is on the spur line from the old Interurban line to the old power plant along the Scioto River. It is largely second-growth woodland.
This land was donated to the park district by former Marion County Commissioner John Watkins.
We hope that this park will eventually be the northern terminus of the C, D, & M rail-trail, which will come north from Delaware, Ohio."
This park is still a work in progress. The pond and wetlands were the first addition, and nature trails are currently in the works. There are plans to possibly add a shelter house and a more extensive network of trails here.
Additionally the local Boy Scouts occasionally camp here, so please try not to disturb them.
The container is a Lock-n-lock container that is just a little smaller than an ammo can. Plenty of room for trades!
