Geocache Description:

You are looking for a contact lens case that contains only a log. Please remember to bring your own writing instrument.

The small town of Jacksonville grew into a city thanks in part to an ordnance plant being built here during World War II. The fuse and detonator plant was the first national defense industry approved for the state, and at the peak of production on November 22, 1942, 14,092 workers were employed at the plant.

Even though the plant closed shortly after the end of the war, evidence of its existence can still be seen throughout the city. If you look west from this location you can see some of the buildings that once helped this country defeat axis powers.

If you find this cache in need of attention, please note it in your online log or email me through my profile link.

I hope you enjoy the cache and the short history lesson of the area. Above all, be safe, have fun, and happy caching.
