If you've been stuck indoors and maybe overindulged in the turkey & Christmas Pud over the last couple of days and fancy a bit of a walk and some fresh air, why not come down to Chanonry Point, one of our favourite places, to blow away the cobwebs?
We will be at the picnic tables at the Point from noon til 2pm on 27th December with Mince Pies and Hot Drinks. Please feel free to bring any extra cakes if you so wish, we have never been known to turn down cake!
A chance to meet up with old & new caching friends, swap travel bugs and even find a few new caches whilst out and about on the Black Isle.
Since it's Christmas if you want to wear tinsel or flash your baubles please don't feel shy!
Chanonry Point is a popular place, people come here to enjoy the superb coastal scenery and the views across the Moray Firth to Fort George. Chanonry Point is particularly popular as one of the best onshore locations in Scotland, or perhaps anywhere, from which to view dolphins. The Moray Firth is home to around 130 dolphins, which can often be seen at very close quarters here as they fish and play in the turbulent waters off the point, although sightings at this time of year are rare and it depends on the tide. The viewing area is wheelchair accessible and there should be plenty of free parking. It’s also ideal for dogs and kids to run wild on the beach.
Please wrap up well as it can be particularly bracing here in Winter.
