Geocache Description:

This is my first cache hide. I logged my 100th find yesterday, so in celebration, I figured I'd give one back. This cache is in the Fireman's Park in my home town of Derby. I used to ride my bike here with my daughter in the baby seat. We would stop here so she could enjoy some time on the swings. They have significantly improved the play area in the last couple years. The park hours are 8AM to 8PM, but you will need daylight to see the clues that are required to find this cache.

This cache should be HC accessible, however snow will cause problems. Click on the link below to learn more about this cache's accessibilty rating.

To "score" this cache you will need to solve a bit of a puzzle. The coordinates are for the first waypoint. There is near by parking. Once you are at the coordinates, face west. You will see a board in the distance. If a=1, z=26, you will need to give values to some of the letters then do a little math. A pen and paper will come in handy To find the latitude coordinates of the container, add up the value for all of the letters in the home team's name. Don't forget to include the initials of the part of the town and the organization in your calculation. Subtract this number from the end of the original North coordinates. To find the longitude coordinates of the container, add up the value for the name of the cola company that sponsored this board. Add this number to the end of the original West coordinates. You should have no problem finding the container once you have the coordinates right. Just roll with your geo-senses. The container is a small plastic lock and lock box with some cammo. It contains a log book and pencil, some typical swag, 4 trackables, including my kids' first Cashkins Trackables (both waiting for a trip), and a unactivated FTF micro Geocoin for the first to find. Congratulations to Silverlocks0 on FTF!
