Geocache Description:

7 Miles from Willits at the intersection of Hearst road and Tomki. parking is close and depending on the time of year will decide how easy the cache is to access, which can be from several ways including right through the bush trail or down through the ladder. Your looking for a high-bank and its cache bearing entity where you have a seat and view of the creek below.

"Let your hook be always cast. In the pool where you least expect it, will be fish"...and in this case, A CACHE! :)
You will have traversed through or next to Fish Ladder?

A fish ladder is a structure designed to allow fish the opportunity to migrate upstream over or through a barrier to continue their path to spawn.

This fish ladder is called a Pool-Weir Fishway.
The pool and weir fishway is used at many man-made structures and is the oldest of the fishway designs, they all have a set of steps and often have a hole in the bottom of each baffle to control the plunging effect and to create another means for fish to move upstream. This design frequently is used at larger barriers works well for jumping species like trout and salmon and are not as effective for species that do not jump.

This cache was placed on a day out with Emmagem and Cache Monkey we were going to have our geo-tea party here, but opted for the creekside picnic cache. So we hung out a bit, placed our cache and was on our way to our tea party.

"No human being, however great, or powerful, was ever so free as a fish."
