The DJ Smith Memorial Park has, first of all, a wonderful memorial to soldiers who have enlisted, and to soldiers who have given their all, for their country.
There are pretty gardens, lovely shade trees, plenty of benches.
There are sheltered picnic tables and BBQ's as well as clean amenities. (Well they were great when I checked them). There is a playground for the kids.
There is a very pretty wooden church on one side of the park, and within the park boundaries there is also an Artist's Hut with artwork displayed by the Australian painter and artist Edwin Bode (1859-1926).
A plaque in the park commemorates The Centenary of Canungra 1879-1979.
