This cache has been placed along a portion of the Gordon Glaves Memorial Trail. This is a beautiful paved trail which will take you from Colborne Street in Brantford all the way to Port Dover, Ontario. At each of the places where the trail crosses any roadways, there is room for two or three cars to pull off. If you begin your trek from Colborne Street, you may park in the D'Aubigny Creek Soccer parking lot across the road from the trailhead.
My son, Jarhead5 and I are big Star Wars fans, and when this part of the trail became available we decided to expand our already existing "Star Wars Series" caches. This cache has been placed along this trail simply because there was a spot for another cache, and it would be wrong to leave out the creator of such a well liked series of movies. GEORGE LUCAS He was born George Walton Lucas, Jr. on May 14, 1944, to Dorothy Ellinore Bomberger and George Walton Lucas, Sr.
Growing up in Modesto, California, George had a passion for fast cars and motor racing. He wanted to become a race car driver when he grew up, but a near-fatal accident in his souped up car just before his high school graduation quickly changed his mind. He enrolled in jr. college and soon developed a passion for cinematology and camera tricks, and I guess you could say the rest is history.
Today he is one of the American film industry's most financially successful directors/producers, with an estimated net worth of $3.2 billion as of 2011. His work in the 1970's as a writer-director, which established him as a major figure in Hollywood, consists of just three films:
THX 1138, American Graffiti, and Star Wars.
There was a 22-year hiatus between the original Star Wars film and his only other feature-film directing credits, the three Star Wars prequels. Lucas acted as a writer and executive producer on another successful Hollywood film franchise, the Indiana Jones series.
